Eric Walters is the Director of Business, Fuels, and Power System Operations at Gainesville Regional
Utilities (GRU) where he is committed to bringing safe, reliable, and economical power to serve the
needs of the citizens of Gainesville. Eric has been in the energy business since 2004 in various roles
including capital project management, performance engineering and combined heat and power plant
management.
Currently, Eric and his group work as a team to manage coal and natural gas procurement, contracts,
and transportation, energy risk management, power systems operations and dispatch and related NERC
compliance, generation planning, wholesale power marketing, biomass PPA contract management, and
power contract settlement.
