Jan C. Aspuru joined the Orlando Utilities Commission in 1993.

As Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Aspuru is responsible for electric, water, chilled water, and lighting operations including energy production, transmission and delivery, fuel procurement services, and wholesale market trading activities. Mr. Aspuru’s previous positions at OUC include Vice President of Energy, Water and Chilled Water Production, Director of Fuel Services, Demand-Side Planning Engineer, and Senior Commercial Accounts Executive.

Mr. Aspuru has extensive experience in engineering, construction and operations of fossil and renewable generation, potable water production, district cooling facilities, fuel procurement, logistics, and wholesale trading activities.  Mr. Aspuru currently serves on the Boards of Directors for Heart of Florida United Way and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando, and is Past Chair of Prospera USA (formerly the Hispanic Business Initiative Fund of Florida.) Mr. Aspuru earned a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Central Florida.
